Press release

by Peter Maniatis

Peter Maniatis : I was very close to signing a Philippine boxer last time l was in the Philippines last January 06, but could not see how good the Filipino boxer was, as we could not organize sparring to test him out under fight pressure,

This time l have bought "the prince" Kerey Palmer to the Philippines to spar some of the Philippine boxers, so l can guide how good they are" Palmer can spar the smaller guys, as he listens and wont try to load up or push them around" and this will help me decide what boxers to sign up after watching them spar Palmer" said award winning promoter Peter Maniatis

l am looking at boxers heavier than super bantamweight and will visit Cubu and Manila gyms

Maniatis who hosts a TV boxing show recently celebrated his 200Th TV channel 31 boxing show and had Kostya Tszyu on as a guest as well as current world champion Vic Darchinyan to mark the occasion,

" l am really looking forward to coming to the Philippines and meeting the boxers and boxing fans, and also looking forward to catching up with my good friend and world class referee Bruce McTavish, he will let me know who are the local up coming Filipino hotshot boxers to look out for.
l will also like to talk with the management while l am in the Philippines of WBF welterweight champion Donton Soltan about defending his world title against former Australian champion Shannon "the man" McMahon, who l manage and promote said Maniatis.

6/1/2007 Peter Maniatis adds:

l will also be in America Los Angele's at the world famous wild card gym on 27th of January, where Filipino boxing idol and world champion Manny Pacquio and James Toney train with international boxing trainer Freddie roach, who has also trained mike Tyson at the wild card gym ,

Maniatis is looking at bringing back top prospect Armenian Vanes "nightmare" Martirosyan back to Australia... Vanes fights next at Honda centre in Anaheim California and Maniatis will be ringside.

Vanes is only 20 years old and trains at the wild card gym in Los Angele's with Freddie roach, he is undefeated in 12 fights at the junior middleweight limit,

"If Vanes comes to Australia he will be managed and promoted by myself and l am very confident he will become Australia's next world boxing champion, Vanes is 6ft tall and can punch with both hands" said Maniatis

"l will also be looking in the Philippines for a boxer to bring back to Australia" said Maniatis.
