I want to say to Team Lovett thank you for the
chance you guys gave me, if Barry Michael hadn't rang me and offered me this
fight I'd still be 89kgs relaxing driving my cab around town but you guys
gave me a lifeline to my boxing career.
It's been tough to get back into this physically mentally and emotionally
but I did it and it paid off, there's something out there I'm looking for
and while I'm able I'm going for it, I don't want in a couple years time to
ask questions of myself.
As for the fight between Lovett and I, as a fighter you know what's going on
in the ring if you're winning or not. I felt I won comfortably even
though Daniel had a big dig and I appreciate him for it but I was in
control. Daniel will benefit a whole lot from this fight, he will be much
better for it.I needed what he gave me in this challenge at this stage of my
comeback, thank you Daniel for giving it your best and keeping me honest.
Also in terms of my opponents in my career, go through my career you'll find
I fought plenty of rated Aussie boxers, Pacific islanders then I went
through some cab drivers (but they stole my job). I finally mixed it up with
some of the best in the world so please don't question my career or
opponents, I don't appreciate that.
In terms of the Aussie flag, please. I've represented my country overseas on
numerous occasions every time with the Aussie flag. I might come out to
Arabic music at times but everyone has there taste. I was actually surprised
there was no Australian national anthem sung before my fight as there always
is. Whenever I do fight overseas I will always represent myself and this
country so keep these issues away from me and people from my background were
not the ones hung up about this flag.
Once again thankyou Team Lovett, great to catch up, I told you all it was
going to be a good fight. I enjoyed being in that zone again, I missed it.
And it was great to win a fight and a title after all this time.
My next move is i got no time to waste my matchmaker Angelo Hyder will be
talking to some Europeans promoters, plan is get a top 10 rated fighter and
try cause an upset, I got no time to waste so i just got to give it my best
shot and make it count.
In terms of a rematch, lets see how i go chasing what I am looking for, I
rule nothing out later, we got a plan right now though, I needed the ibf pan
pac to get to where I want to be.
I'm just going to relax now the body found it tough doing 12rounds in that
heat in Dandenong after 2 years of doing nothing, the heat was ridiculous.
I'll also be better for it.
Best Wishes Nader Hamdan
