Diaz Decisions Morales! "I'm Not Going To Fight Anymore."

(33-1-1, 17 KOs) defeated former three time division champion Erik
Morales (48-6, 34 KOs) tonight at the Allstate Arena, in Rosemont,
Illinois, winning a close 12-round unanimous decision, and in the
process preventing Morales, 30, from winning a fourth division title.
Immediately afterwards, Morales announced his retirement, saying “I'm
not going to fight anymore. I've taken far too many punches,
particularly to the head area. Punches to the head are really beginning
to bother me.”
In rounds three though seven, Morales landed the
harder shots, and badly bruised Diaz’s right eye in the process.
However, Morales begin to tire noticeably by the eighth round, losing
much of the power from his punches and throwing less often. Diaz seemed

knockout. However, Diaz quickly turned the tables and dominated the rest
